Madera County business owner receives prestigious recognition

Steel Structures Inc. in Madera County is a manufacturing plant that specializes in transforming flat sheets of steel into massive tools that contribute to driving the economy. With four buildings on nine acres, the company handles projects of all sizes, some of which are shipped across the world to places like Guam, Barbados, and Australia.

Dan Riley, the president of the company, was recognized by the Small Business Association as the 2024 Small Business Person of the Year in April. As the third generation to run the family-owned business that started in 1952, Riley is dedicated to continuing the legacy and eventually passing it on to his two sons.

Riley expresses gratitude for the employees who help keep the family legacy strong and believes in giving back to the community. As a Rotarian and a veteran, he is involved in various service clubs and aims to support and give back to the community. He values the idea that a rising tide lifts all ships.

Riley’s youngest son has been working with his father since he was a young teen and is excited to be part of the growing business. The company’s goal is to serve more areas in the future and continue making a positive impact on the community.
