Malik Cunningham discusses transition from quarterback to wide receiver

Malik Cunningham, a former quarterback for the New England Patriots, has found a new opportunity with the Baltimore Ravens, giving him renewed hope in his NFL career. During the 2023 preseason, Cunningham played both quarterback and receiver for the Patriots but was ultimately cut from the team. He was then signed to the practice squad but was poached by the Ravens in December.

Although Cunningham won’t be taking over the starting quarterback position for the Ravens, as Lamar Jackson holds that spot, he is focusing on transitioning to becoming a wide receiver. In a recent appearance on “The Lounge” podcast, Cunningham discussed his shift from quarterback to wideout.

Cunningham expressed his willingness to do whatever is best for the team, even if it means playing a different position than he initially intended. He sees his transition to wide receiver as a positive opportunity to make plays for his teammates and contribute to the team’s success.

Despite the disappointment of some New England Patriots fans at seeing Cunningham leave, many are excited to see him have the chance to showcase his athleticism and talent with the Ravens. Cunningham is confident in his abilities and is determined to do whatever it takes to help his team win.
