Man stabbed in front of the Chancellery in Berlin

A brutal attack occurred on the banks of the Spree in Berlin’s government district, directly across from the Chancellery. On Wednesday night, a man was stabbed around 2:30 a.m. in the area not far from a beer garden on Elisabeth-Abegg-Strasse. The victim suffered two bleeding stab wounds and was attended to by an emergency doctor from the Bundeswehr and an emergency paramedic from the nearby fire station on the Moltke Bridge.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for further treatment, and it was reported that he had been celebrating with friends on the banks of the Spree. The police questioned the man’s friends, who were in shock after the incident. The perpetrator or perpetrators were said to be on the run, and the motive behind the attack was still unknown.
