Manager in charge of Hamas weapons development dies

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently announced the killing of Muhammad Salah, who was responsible for weapons projects and development at Hamas headquarters. Salah was killed in an air raid in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military specified that Salah commanded several Hamas terrorist teams working on weapon development.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in an interview that the most intense phase of the war in Rafah was about to end. He mentioned the possibility of moving some forces to the north for defensive purposes and to allow displaced people to return home. Netanyahu also emphasized that Israel is prepared to face multiple fronts if necessary.

In response to the threats from Hezbollah, Netanyahu expressed a willingness to accept a diplomatic solution but only on Israel’s terms, which would include removing Hezbollah from the border. Anti-government protesters in Israel have been demanding Netanyahu’s resignation and calling for a general strike to pressure the government.

The situation in southern Lebanon, near the border with Israel, has caused concern, with EU High Representative Josep Borrell expressing worries. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is set to visit Israel and Lebanon to address the escalating tensions in the region.

The Israel Defense Forces recently conducted a successful test of a rocket propulsion system. Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis condemned threats from Hezbollah against Cyprus, emphasizing Cyprus’ sovereignty as a member of the European Union.
