Managers accused of bullying at Charleroi Airport reassigned to different responsibilities

The management of Charleroi airport has decided to reassign two managers who were accused of bullying by staff members. This decision was made in hopes of preventing the strikes that unions had planned for Wednesday. A spokesperson for BSCA announced this on Friday afternoon after informing the unions of the decision earlier that day. These measures are considered precautionary and will remain in place while an internal auditor investigates the claims.

Yves Lambot from the Christian employee union CNE expressed that while the decision to suspend the managers is a positive step, he is disappointed that the measures are still considered preventive at this stage. He mentioned that the case will first go to an internal auditor and then possibly to the labor auditor’s office before final decisions are made. The strike notice is set to last until May 15, causing concerns for the management as the airport is expecting around 500,000 passengers in the next two weeks due to the start of the spring holidays in French-speaking Belgium.
