Manchester United has announced that Mary Earps will be leaving the club. Earps, who played as a goalkeeper for the Lionesses, made more than 100 appearances for Marc Skinner’s team during her five-year tenure. She also helped the team win the Women’s FA Cup. Despite being offered an improved contract by Manchester United, Earps has chosen to leave the club and is reportedly set to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
In a tweet from Manchester United Women’s official account, they thanked Earps for her service and wished her the best of luck in her future endeavors. It is reported that Earps will become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the women’s game with a two-year contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
Earps is the third player to depart Manchester United this summer, following the departures of Katie Zelem and Lucía García. It is a significant loss for the team, as Earps has been an integral part of the squad for the past five years. Her departure will surely be felt by both the team and the fans, but they will undoubtedly wish her nothing but success in her future endeavors.
