The former gravel mining area in Maple Grove has undergone significant development in recent years. Plans are now in place to expand a proposed building in the Arbor Lakes Business Park, with the Maple Grove City Council approving an amendment to allow for a 198,000-square-foot building. This new building is larger than the previous proposal, which was 158,000 square feet, and is being developed by Edina-based Endeavor Development.

This new building would be the ninth addition to the Arbor Lakes Business Park, and while the specific user is not yet determined, it is expected to accommodate a variety of potential tenants. Endeavor Development has stated that the larger size of the building is in response to market demand and is likely to create more job opportunities in the area.

The proposed building by Endeavor would be situated west of the Boston Scientific building that is currently under construction. Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos. is working on a 400,000-square-foot campus for Boston Scientific employees, with space for as many as 1,600 employees. The construction of the new building in the Arbor Lakes Business Park does not yet have a confirmed start date, but it is anticipated to begin by next spring.

Overall, the development of the former gravel mining area in Maple Grove continues to progress, with more expansion and job opportunities on the horizon. The ongoing growth and development in the area are positive signs for economic growth and prosperity in the community.
