Reigning Hyundai Archery World Cup Champion Marcus D’Almeida dominated in the recurve men’s event at the second stage of the international tour in Yecheon, Korea. He shot an impressive 691 points in the 72-arrow 70-metre qualifying round, securing the top seed position. The field, typically used for Korea’s domestic selections in 2024, proved to be favorable for the Brazilian archer.

Expressing his satisfaction with his performance, Marcus credited his success to his focus and adaptability to the changing wind conditions. Despite facing challenges, he managed to maintain his composure and deliver an outstanding performance. He was the only recurve archer to score over 690 points, showcasing his talent and skill on the field.

Kim Woojin and Matias Grande followed closely behind Marcus in the rankings, securing the second and third seed positions, respectively. While Kim Woojin dropped one point below Marcus, Matias Grande trailed behind by just one additional point. The competition was fierce, with archers pushing themselves to their limits to secure a spot at the top of the leaderboard.

Having skipped the season opener in Shanghai, Marcus made a strong statement with his performance in Yecheon. He emphasized the importance of continuous training and self-improvement as he strives to defend his title and maintain his position as the world’s number one archer. Despite his past successes, Marcus remains focused on the present and is determined to push himself to new heights in the current season of the World Cup circuit.
