Marseille has officially announced that they have reached an agreement with Roberto De Zerbi to become their new head coach. De Zerbi recently ended his two-year tenure with Brighton and is now set to take charge at the Orange Vélodrome. The Italian coach is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Phocéens, who finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season.
In a statement released by the club, Marseille confirmed the agreement with De Zerbi and stated that they are currently working to finalize the details of his appointment. They are also making arrangements for his coaching staff to join him at the club. De Zerbi will be arriving in Marseille in the coming days to begin his new role.
De Zerbi will be replacing Jean-Louis Gasset, who retired after serving as a caretaker coach following the departure of Gennaro Gattuso in February. Marseille will be hoping that De Zerbi can lead the team to success in the upcoming season and help them improve upon their eighth-place finish in Ligue 1.
