Marucci, a sports equipment company based in Baton Rouge, named official bat provider of Major League Baseball

Baton Rouge-based sports equipment company Marucci Sports LLC announced on Friday that it has reached a license agreement with Major League Baseball. This agreement will make Marucci and Victus brands the official bats of MLB. Marucci Sports was established in 2009 by former LSU and MLB pitcher Kurt Ainsworth. The company acquired Marucci Bats, which was initially founded by LSU athletic trainer Jack Marucci.

Fox Factory Holding Corp. acquired Marucci Sports in November for $572 million after changing ownership in a $200 million deal in 2020. The exclusive license for Marucci and Victus brands to be the official bats of MLB will come into effect on January 1, 2025, and will run until December 31, 2028.
