The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has promulgated Law 26/06/2024 (awaiting publication) containing provisions for the implementation of the differentiated autonomy of the Regions with ordinary statute pursuant to article 116, third paragraph, of the Constitution. This law represents a significant opportunity for growth and development for all of Italy, from North to South. Matteo Salvini, the leader of the League, emphasized this point, calling it a historic moment for the country.

After the announcement of the promulgation of the law on differentiated autonomy by President Mattarella, Alberto Stefani, a deputy of the League and rapporteur for Autonomy in the Chamber, expressed satisfaction. He noted that President Mattarella’s quick approval after the Chamber’s decision refuted any misrepresentations or exploitation of the law. Luca Zaia, the president of the Veneto Region, highlighted the significance of June 26th as the date when Autonomy became law. He emphasized the need to move forward with negotiations specified by the constitution after the official publication of the law.

This development has the potential to bring several benefits to Italy by fostering growth, development, and opportunities for various regions. The leaders involved in the process have expressed optimism about the impact of this new law and are eager to see it implemented. Moving forward, discussions and negotiations will be crucial for ensuring the effective implementation of differentiated autonomy across the country.
