Mayor G.T. Bynum to Transition to Saint Francis Health Systems after Term Ends

City of Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum has announced that he will be joining Saint Francis Health System as Vice President of Community and Government Affairs once his term as mayor ends. Bynum expressed his admiration for the health system, its team, mission, and culture of excellence that has been cultivated over the past 64 years. He looks forward to using his knowledge from his years in public service to benefit the Saint Francis Health System.

During his time as mayor of Tulsa, Bynum led important initiatives such as the Vision Renewal Capital Campaign and Improve Our Tulsa, which made significant investments in the city’s infrastructure. He also guided the city through challenges such as the Father’s Day storm and the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to becoming mayor, Bynum served on the Tulsa City Council for eight years, where he made history as the youngest elected City Council chair. He comes from a family with a legacy of public service, with three previous generations serving as mayor of Tulsa.

Saint Francis Health System President and CEO, Dr. Cliff Robertson, expressed his excitement about Bynum joining the team, emphasizing his leadership qualities and strategic decision-making abilities. Robertson had the opportunity to work closely with Bynum following a tragedy in 2022, where he witnessed Bynum’s compassion and dedication to the community.

As Bynum transitions to his new role at Saint Francis Health System, he remains committed to serving the community and making a positive impact. His experience and leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of the health system.
