Stewart Memorial Community Hospital and McCrary Lost Clinic have recently hired Kate DeWall, an experienced and licensed social worker from Iowa. DeWall will be providing virtual therapy services to patients of all ages and backgrounds. With her 10 years of experience, cultural competency, and patient advocacy, she is a valuable addition to the team. DeWall holds a master’s degree in social work from St. Ambrose University.
Lee Miller, SMCH Principal Clinic Director, believes that DeWall’s expertise, knowledge, and compassion will be a great fit for the organization. DeWall specializes in various mental health topics, including conflict resolution, healthy relationships, stress relief, trauma, abuse, diet and gut health, and the importance of social connection. Miller emphasizes the urgent need for mental health care in rural areas, such as their own, and believes that DeWall’s presence will help address this need in a convenient manner.
