Med Center Health is expanding its presence in Barren County with the groundbreaking of a new healthcare facility in Glasgow. The event is set to take place at 401 S. L. Rogers Wells Blvd., next to the Sherwin Williams paint store. Top executives from Med Center Health and the physicians who will soon be providing care at Med Center Glasgow are anticipating the milestone event scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m.
Connie Smith, the president and CEO of Med Center Health, emphasized the health system’s commitment to improving access to care for patients across Southcentral Kentucky. With more than half of their patients traveling from areas outside of Warren County, the new facility will bring vital healthcare services closer to home for many in the region.
The construction of the 22,000 square foot facility is being led by contractor Scott, Murphy, and Daniel in collaboration with Stengel Hill Architecture. The facility will feature an outpatient diagnostic imaging center with state-of-the-art technology, providing services such as radiology, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, CT, and MRI.
In addition to diagnostic services, Med Center Glasgow will offer a wide range of specialties including Primary Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), Hematology/Oncology, Neurosurgery, Urology, and Orthopedics/Sports Medicine. The facility is expected to open its doors to patients next spring, further enhancing healthcare options for the community in Glasgow and beyond.
