An incident occurred at the Westfalenbad in Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia) where a small child, aged 6, had to be resuscitated after a swimming accident. The girl was found floating lifeless in the water shortly before closing time on Sunday. Two medical students who happened to be present at the pool immediately provided first aid and resuscitated the unconscious child until emergency services arrived. A rescue helicopter and a pediatric emergency doctor were also summoned to the scene to assist. The rescue workers were able to stabilize the child and transport her to a hospital, but her life still remains in danger. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the swimming accident.
