Former first lady Melania Trump has largely remained out of the public eye since her husband, Donald Trump, left office. She did not attend Trump’s hush-money trial and was notably absent from the first 2024 presidential debate. Reports from CNN and ABC News stated that Melania did not make the trip to Atlanta for the debate, while first lady Jill Biden was in attendance.

Melania has reportedly been making select appearances during her husband’s campaign trail, holding fundraisers at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Despite most of Trump’s children showing up for his criminal trial, Melania did not attend to hear prosecutors question him about falsifying business records. Throughout Trump’s presidency, Melania’s relationship with him has been a subject of fascination, and Axios recently reported that she might not live in Washington full-time if Trump wins the White House in November.

Former President Trump has provided various explanations for Melania’s absence, including that she was dealing with a family matter and that she did not need to be in the public eye. Despite this, Melania made her first appearance on her husband’s campaign trail at a fundraiser in April and is set to host a second fundraiser in July. A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Melania’s future public appearances.
