Grand Mental Health is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mental health in communities throughout Green Country. By utilizing data, the organization is able to pinpoint areas within the Tulsa metro that are most in need of resources through their campaign “Leading Change Advancing Care.” Collaborating with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, they are able to identify communities in need, with a particular focus on east and north Tulsa.
In an effort to combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, Grand Mental Health is working closely with community partners and residents to provide support and resources. The goal is to address the gap between the number of people in need of services and those currently receiving them, a gap that has become even more apparent in the wake of the pandemic.
According to Ron Brady, a leader at Grand Mental Health, there is a significant disparity between the number of individuals requiring mental health services in Tulsa County and those actually accessing them. The organization has observed a 138 percent increase in the number of clients served from January to April, highlighting the growing demand for mental health resources in the area.
