6-3, 227-pound rising junior infielder Michael Anderson from Rhode Island committed to play baseball at Arkansas. Anderson was the primary first baseman for the Rams this year and led his team with 41 RBI. He broke the NCAA Division I record with 12 RBI in a game against Stonehill (Mass.) College in March, nearly hitting for the cycle by going 5 for 6 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 home runs.
Anderson shared his commitment on social media and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. He also had success during a March series at Texas A&M, going 3 for 12 with a double and a home run. In his only series against an SEC opponent, he had 3 RBI, 2 runs, and 5 strikeouts.
This talented player’s commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks adds strength to their roster and brings a player with impressive accomplishments to their team. Anderson’s skills and experience will be valuable assets to the team as they strive for success in the upcoming season.
