A family-owned clothing store in northern Michigan is celebrating its 105th anniversary. Ed Rehmanns, located in Chesaning, was established in 1919 and will commemorate this milestone on Saturday. The store began its anniversary festivities in May with the unveiling of a mural created by a local student in collaboration with Carhartt.

Co-owner Ric Rehmann expressed gratitude for the community and customers who have supported the store throughout the years. He mentioned that their grandparents founded the store in 1919, and it is an honor to continue their legacy and be a part of Michigan’s history. Ed Rehmanns sells a variety of clothing, including fire-resistant and regular workwear, as well as first responder uniforms and accessories. They also provide services such as tailoring, tuxedo rentals, dry cleaning, and partner with other businesses.

The anniversary celebration on Saturday will feature giveaways from partners like Carhartt and Red Wings Boots, live music, food trucks, and face painting. Co-owner Nancy Rehmann expressed their gratitude and pride in serving multiple generations of Michiganders. She emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, as it keeps money within communities, creates jobs, and helps everyone to pursue their dreams. It’s a big thank you to all the supporters who have made the store’s success possible.
