Four-star offensive tackle Mario Nash Jr. made a surprising decision to commit to Mississippi State over LSU, Clemson, and Ole Miss by the end of June. Nash, one of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting cycle from Mississippi, chose to stay in-state with the Bulldogs. He had been on four official visits in June and ultimately decided on Mississippi State after their final visit.
Despite not expecting to make a decision so soon, Nash was impressed by the consistent recruitment efforts of the Bulldogs coaching staff. He specifically mentioned Coach Kennedy’s coaching style and Coach Lebby’s personality as factors that influenced his decision. While visits to Clemson and LSU also stood out to him, Nash felt most comfortable with Mississippi State, who had been actively recruiting him throughout the off-season.
Nash’s talent was recognized when he was named the Offensive Line MVP at the Rivals Camp Series stop in Dallas. He showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions along the offensive line and excelled in pass protection against top defensive linemen. With his agility and ability to absorb and control contact, Nash proved to have a high upside at various positions on the offensive line, especially guard.
