Mourinho’s aspiration to clinch Turkish league victory with Fenerbahce

The new coach of Turkish club Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho, held a press conference at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul. During the conference, Mourinho expressed his dream of winning the Turkish Super Lig with Fenerbahce but made no promises. The press conference was attended online by more than 80,000 people.

Speaking from Fenerbahce’s headquarters after being appointed as coach on Sunday, Mourinho stated that while he was making no promises, winning the Turkish Super Lig was the main target and dream for him and the team. Fenerbahce narrowly missed out on the league title last season to arch-rivals Galatasaray.

Mourinho will be leading Fenerbahce through the second round of qualifying for the Champions League before the new season begins. He emphasized taking things step by step despite his past successful endeavors in Europe, including two Champions League titles.

The Portuguese coach confirmed that his contract with Fenerbahce would be for a duration of two years. Mourinho’s appointment was announced in a post on X from Wembley, where he was working as a television pundit for the Champions League final on Saturday night.

Upon his arrival in Istanbul, Mourinho was welcomed by enthusiastic Fenerbahce fans at the airport and later presented at the club’s stadium alongside club president Ali Koc. Mourinho, known as the ‘Special One,’ has previously achieved success at clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid, and will now look to lead Fenerbahce to new heights in the Turkish Super Lig and beyond.
