Reports suggest that former Serie A champions Napoli are considering lowering their asking price for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as he seeks a move away from the Italian league. Initially, Napoli had set a release clause of €150M, which had deterred potential suitors. However, in an effort to free up transfer funds for new manager Antonio Conte, they may be willing to reduce the asking price to €100M.
According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, Conte is keen on landing Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, and Napoli needs funds to make that happen. Chelsea, previously rumored to be interested in Osimhen, has not engaged in any negotiations with the club. As a result, Osimhen’s options appear to be limited, with potential moves to the Saudi Pro-League or Paris Saint-Germain on the table.
Despite offers with high salaries, Osimhen reportedly prefers a move to the English Premier League. It seems like his future is uncertain, but Napoli is willing to adjust their asking price in hopes of facilitating a transfer deal that works for all parties involved.
