The Town of Narrows in Virginia is focusing on promoting outdoor recreation in the New River Valley. The town’s unique location provides opportunities for hiking, biking, and water activities, making it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Town manager Terry Nicholson believes that Narrows is perfectly situated for outdoor recreation and is looking for a business to capitalize on these opportunities.

Located near Wolf Creek, Nicholson sees the potential for an outfitter business to thrive in the area. This business could cater to kayaking and other water-related activities in the creek and river. By bringing in a business that promotes outdoor recreation, Nicholson hopes to attract more businesses to the town and boost the local economy.

In addition to the potential business opportunity, the town has recently added a trail for hiking along the creek. This trail leads to a primitive campground on the New River, providing a scenic outdoor experience for residents and visitors. Narrows resident Ralph Robertson, an avid outdoorsman, believes that the town is a paradise for outdoor activities, including paddling, mountain biking, and trail running.

Narrows’ focus on outdoor recreation is part of its recent revitalization efforts. The town expects to receive many applicants for the potential business opportunity, emphasizing the importance of outdoor recreation in driving economic growth and enhancing the quality of life in Narrows.
