“NBA circles express concern over Ja Morant’s firearm footage”

Another video featuring Ja Morant with what appears to be a gun has caused concern among those in the basketball world. The Memphis Grizzlies guard has already received an eight-game suspension for firing a gun during an Instagram Live at a strip club in March, but Morant was seen holding a gun in a new video over the weekend.

In response to such a video, there is a high possibility that an even harsher punishment will be given this time. The Grizzlies have already suspended him indefinitely from all team activity. Current and former players reacted to the video on social media.

ESPN pundit and longtime former NBA center Kendrick Perkins tweeted that Morant “will not stop until he leaves the league.” Former NBA star Chandler Parsons suggested in an Instagram post that the league “should be paused [Morant] for the rest of the next season,” this will be the fifth in the league for the young guard.

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant also took to Twitter to voice his opinion. “Ja Morant… why? All that nonsense is bullshit,” Bryant wrote. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, best known for his 2010 shooting incident and suspension, posted a video 24 hours before another Morant incident, urging young stars to stay out of trouble.

Morant, who turns 24 in August, went out in the first round of the playoffs with the Grizzlies, losing in six games to the Lakers, who qualified for the conference finals. Morant, who claimed the gun in the March video was not his, underwent a counseling program in Florida before returning to the team in late March.
