Immanuel Quickley recently signed a lucrative contract worth $175 million with the Toronto Raptors, prompting his former Kentucky teammate Tyrese Maxey to jokingly remind him of a debt owed. Maxey took to social media to playfully reference a time when he paid for Quickley’s Chick-fil-A meal back in school, now that Quickley has struck gold with his new deal.

As a restricted free agent this offseason, Maxey is also in line for a big payday after proving himself as a young All-Star and key player for the Philadelphia 76ers. The talented point guard has emerged as one of the top players in the free agency market, averaging impressive stats of 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists this season. While other teams may be eyeing Maxey as a valuable asset, it is likely that the 76ers will make a strong effort to retain him for the long-term.

With Quickley securing a massive contract and Maxey poised for a significant payday of his own, it seems that the tables have turned since their school days. Maxey will soon be able to afford his own chicken sandwiches, leaving behind the days when Quickley relied on his friend to foot the bill.
