During spring break for some Illinois schools, the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago announced that it would be closed on Wednesday for unexpected maintenance. The museum posted on its website that they would be closed and advised those who had purchased advance tickets to call for a refund or to rebook their reservation. They stated that the museum is expected to reopen on Thursday for normal operating hours.

From Monday to Thursday, the museum was operating under extended spring break hours, opening at 9:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. The website mentioned that the regular operating hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. would resume on Monday, April 8. Additionally, they announced that on April 21, there would be a free admission day for Illinois residents.
