Nelly Korda forced to withdraw from LET Aramco event due to dog bite

Nelly Korda took to her Instagram page to announce that she will not be participating in the upcoming LET event due to a dog bite injury she sustained. She expressed regret at having to withdraw from the Ladies European Tour tournament in London and explained that she needed time to receive treatment and fully recover from the incident that occurred on Saturday in Seattle.

After missing the cut at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Sahalee Country Club, this marked Korda’s third consecutive missed cut following her earlier successes in her LPGA starts in 2024. Despite her absence, she conveyed her apologies to the LET, sponsors, and fans for not being able to compete and expressed gratitude for their understanding, looking forward to returning to the course soon.

Korda’s injury is not an isolated incident in the world of women’s golf, as Alison Lee also suffered a dog-bite injury earlier in the season. Lee, who was bitten by her boyfriend’s Pomeranian, had to undergo hospital treatment and missed playing time as a result, including the Aramco Saudi event. The LPGA will be taking a break next week but will resume play with the Amundi Evian Championship in France from July 11-14, which is the fourth major of the season.

Having won the Chevron Championship as the first major of the season, Korda’s recent missed cuts in the U.S. Women’s Open and the Women’s PGA have been setbacks in her otherwise impressive career. Despite these challenges, Korda’s determination and resilience are sure to see her back on the course competing at her best in the near future.
