Nelly Korda pulls out of LET Aramco event due to dog bite injury

Nelly Korda took to Instagram to share the unfortunate news that she will not be participating in the upcoming LET event due to a dog bite incident. She expressed regret for having to withdraw from the tournament in London and explained that she needs time to receive treatment and make a full recovery from the incident that occurred in Seattle.

Having missed the cut at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship last week, it was Korda’s third consecutive missed cut after an impressive start to the 2024 LPGA season with six wins in her first eight starts. Despite her absence, she expressed gratitude to the LET, sponsors, and fans for their understanding and is looking forward to returning to the course soon.

Interestingly, Korda is not the only player to experience a dog-bite injury this season. Alison Lee also suffered a dog bite incident earlier in the year, causing her to miss time on the course, including the Aramco Saudi event. The LPGA will have a break next week before resuming with the Amundi Evian Championship in France from July 11-14, which is the fourth major of the season.

Korda, who is currently ranked as the world’s No. 1 player, had a successful run last year, winning the individual portion of the Aramco-sponsored event in England. Despite recent setbacks, she remains a formidable force on the tour and will be eagerly awaited by fans when she makes her return to competitive golf.
