In August, Netflix will no longer be compatible with older Apple TV devices, as the streaming platform has already begun notifying users of the upcoming change. Apple TV allows users to watch Netflix content from their iPhone on a larger television screen.
Currently, Netflix supports Apple TV devices from the second generation to the most recent, the third generation Apple TV 4k Ultra HD. However, starting July 31, Netflix will no longer support older models of Apple TV.
In a note published on its Help Center, Netflix announced that second and third generation Apple TVs will no longer be compatible with the streaming service. Users have also been informed of this change via email.
The second and third generation Apple TV devices were released in 2010 and 2012, respectively. They support HD resolutions of 720p and 1,080p, offer features such as subtitles, alternative audio, and 5.1 surround sound.
