Good Monday morning, Alexandria! Today’s weather forecast includes patchy fog until 8am followed by a mostly sunny day with a high near 76. A light south wind will increase to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Monday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 59 and a south wind of 6 to 8 mph.

In local news, the City of Alexandria is looking to implement “smart technology” to help guide traffic flows along the Duke Street and Van Dorn Street corridors. This project is set to begin this year and continue through 2026. The smart technology will adapt signals to current traffic patterns, retiming them every three-to-five minutes, as opposed to the usual months or years. The goal is to reduce travel time for drivers along the Duke and Van Dorn Street corridors by approximately 10%.
