Excavation work is currently underway at the former Quist Moving & Storage location at the intersection of East Main Street and Boyer Drive in Marshall. This corner of a busy road is undergoing significant changes.

The Marshall Economic Development Authority revealed on social media that the property will soon host a Les Schwab Tire Center, although further details about the construction project were not available at the moment. CenterPointe Development, the company responsible for developing the property, has not yet responded to phone messages regarding the project. Todd Quist, from Quist Moving & Storage, confirmed the sale of their East Main Street property in 2023. The business has since relocated to a new spot along Minnesota Highway 23.

Quist shared that his family’s moving and storage business, which originated in Pipestone in 1969, has expanded over the years to other locations in Fairmont and Marshall. After more than 30 years at the East Main Street location, the decision to sell was motivated in part by the need for more space. The opportunity to grow at a larger location prompted the sale. Their new facilities on Highway 23 were just recently occupied this spring.

Established in Oregon in 1952, Les Schwab Tire Centers specialize in tires, brakes, wheels, alignment, batteries, shocks, and struts. While the closest locations to Marshall are currently in Sioux Falls and Watertown, South Dakota, the new center in Marshall will provide convenient service to the local community.
