Joseph DeLeon, a hospital administrator from Texas, has been announced as the new CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare System starting in August. This announcement comes after the current CEO, Dr. Jeffrey DiLisi, decided not to renew his contract last October. DiLisi had been in the CEO position since December 2020, and Dr. Megan Baker had been serving as the interim CEO since November. Baker will transition to the position of chief operating officer.

DeLeon currently serves as the president of the 851-bed Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, a Level 1 Trauma Center in the Dallas area. With nearly 30 years of experience in senior health care leadership positions, DeLeon is well-equipped to take on the role of CEO at Roper St. Francis Healthcare System.

Edward McKelvey, chairman of the Roper St. Francis Healthcare Board of Directors, expressed his confidence in DeLeon, citing his long history of excellence in healthcare management since 1991 and his prior service as a captain in the United States Air Force Medical Services Corps. The board looks forward to DeLeon’s leadership in continuing to provide quality healthcare and furthering the system’s mission of ‘healing all people with compassion, faith, and excellence.’

As this story continues to develop, it is advised to check back for updates on the appointment of Joseph DeLeon as the new CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare System.
