The California Science Center in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, recently opened the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center Work in Progress Gallery. This unique exhibition provides visitors with a sneak peek at the artifacts and displays planned for the new 200,000-square-foot Air and Space Center. California Science Center President and CEO Jeff Rudolph mentioned that the building is more than halfway completed and will be a significant addition to the center, nearly doubling the amount of exhibit space available.

One of the main highlights of the center will be the space shuttle Endeavour, the only space shuttle positioned in a vertical ready-to-launch stance in the world. However, the gallery also showcases other fascinating exhibits, such as the Dragon cargo spacecraft that has made three trips to the International Space Station and the Electron rocket made by Rocket Lab in Long Beach.

The gallery is designed to ignite curiosity about space and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. Lynda Oschin, chairperson of the Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Oschin Family Foundation, expressed her excitement about the project, naming the center in honor of her late husband who was a significant donor to the center.

Construction of the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center is projected to be completed next year. In the meantime, the public can visit the gallery to get a preview of the artifacts that will be featured and rotated throughout the year. The center aims to provide an educational and awe-inspiring experience for all visitors.
