New Eye Spy Exhibit Now Open at Science City in Union Station

A new interactive exhibit called Eye Spy has recently opened at Kansas City’s Science City, offering 2,000 square feet of immersive activities for families and kids to enjoy. The exhibit replaces the previous Mister E Hotel and features custom hand-painted and spray-painted murals with hidden illusions that relate to Science City and its legacy in the city. Additionally, there are 15 illusive photo ops and hands-on activities for visitors to explore.

One of the highlights of the exhibit is a “never-before-seen, custom curated video technology” called the “Travelvator,” which virtually takes visitors around the outside of the station. The rooms in the exhibit are based on five categories: color, nature, art, technology, and perspective, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

In the color room, visitors are greeted with 256 colors and patterns to stimulate their senses. The nature room features illusions of firefly forests and elephant stampedes. The art room is filled with mind-twisting visuals that lead to a giant kaleidoscope. The technology room allows guests to virtually journey through Union Station and downtown Kansas City with the Travelvator. In the perspective room, visitors can explore how illusions can shift their view of the world around them.

Admission to the Eye Spy exhibit is $16.50, with children 12 months and under admitted free, as well as Union Station members. For more information, visit unionstation.org.
