The new Froedtert ThedaCare Health campus is currently under construction on the west side of Fond du Lac. The groundbreaking for the hospital, situated at the former location of the Younkers store at Forest Mall, took place on February 13. It is expected to be completed and open to the public by 2025. This modern facility is designed to provide 24/7 access to care, including emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services. Services may be expanded in the future to meet the needs of the community. The project, led by Froedtert ThedaCare Health, will be carried out by Miron Construction and will result in a hospital of approximately 25,000 square feet at a cost of $35 million.
The goal of the new hospital campus is to provide coordinated access to all levels of care in one facility close to home. Froedtert ThedaCare Health President Imran Andrabi emphasized this at the press conference during the groundbreaking. The joint venture between Froedtert Health and ThedaCare, which involved the merging of the two medical providers, was first announced in October 2022 and finalized on January 1. Additionally, a temporary clinic is already open on the east side of Fond du Lac, and a permanent clinic is under construction near Festival Foods. A similar facility is planned to be built in Oshkosh, following the same model as the one in Fond du Lac.
