With the College Football Playoff expanding, there is a greater need for more options for viewing the games. ESPN has made a deal with TNT, giving the latter the rights to air two first-round games. This agreement is for five years and will expand in the future, with TNT adding two quarterfinal games per year from the 2026 season through the 2028 season. However, ESPN will remain the network for all other College Football Playoff games, including the national championship game.

ESPN will still have the first choice in selecting which games it wants to broadcast. Given the high ratings that teams like Ohio State draw, it is likely that ESPN will prioritize showing their games. However, if Ohio State were to face a lesser-known opponent, fans may have to tune in to TNT to watch the game.

The College Football Playoff will begin with the first round on December 20-21, with the higher-seeded team hosting the lower-seeded team. The quarterfinals will follow on December 31 and January 1, with the semifinals on January 9 and 10. The championship game will take place on January 20 in Atlanta.

The agreement between ESPN and TNT Sports for select College Football Playoff games will provide fans with more opportunities to watch and enjoy the games. Follow us on X and Facebook for ongoing coverage of Ohio State news, notes, and opinions.
