Nuvance Health, the operator of Norwalk Hospital, has recently opened its first urgent care clinic in the city. Located at 205 Main St., Suite 7, the Nuvance Health-GoHealth Urgent Care is approximately 2 miles away from the hospital. The opening of this clinic aligns with Nuvance Health’s mission of providing easily accessible, affordable, and high-quality care to the community.
Dr. Reed Idriss, the medical director of Nuvance Health-GoHealth, emphasized the importance of offering patient-centered healthcare services in neighborhood locations where individuals live, work, and play. This Main Street urgent care facility is the sixth Nuvance Health-GoHealth location and the second in Fairfield County. Other locations have recently opened in Carmel, N.Y. and North Stamford, with more centers in Fairfield County expected to open later this year.
The new Norwalk urgent care clinic caters to patients aged six months and older, providing diagnosis and treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Services include treatment for the flu, earaches, insect bites, sprains, simple fractures, eye injuries, cuts requiring stitches, and other common ailments. In addition to on-site care, the urgent care clinic can also refer patients to other providers within the Nuvance Health network for further treatment if needed.
