The President of Arnot Health cut the ribbon to mark the completion of an upgraded orthopedics facility at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira. The ceremony took place on June 27 on the first floor of the Madison Avenue building. After two years of construction, the facility now offers an improved waiting room, 19 exam rooms, and two x-ray rooms, providing patients with more access to the department.
Dr. Matthew Brand highlighted the importance of the expanded facility, emphasizing the enhanced access it provides to the orthopedic surgery department. The new office features bright, spacious hallways that are accessible for individuals using scooters, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids. This accessibility is valued by patients in the community, contributing to their overall comfort and convenience.
During the event, Arnot Health President/CEO Jonathan Lawrence expressed gratitude to all the individuals who contributed to the development of the new facility over the past two years. Dr. Brand also extended his thanks to former surgeons and other key figures who played a crucial role in establishing the orthopedics practice in Elmira. The upgrade represents an important milestone for the hospital and will benefit patients seeking orthopedic care in the area.
