The program called Biz2Empower in Houston, Texas is offering help to veterans who are looking to start or build their own businesses. Tiko Hausman, one of the program organizers, shared that the program provides hands-on experience with networking, financing, and business strategizing. This support is aimed at giving former service members the skills they need to successfully enter the workforce.
Veteran and small business owner Quami Bingham spoke about the benefits of the program, saying that it helps veterans overcome the stigmas associated with their military service. He shared his personal success story, mentioning that since coming out of the program, he has been able to achieve being awarded a contract with some schools out of east Texas and building supplier relationships.
