In TripAdvisor’s 2024 Traveler’s Choice Awards, the iconic 102-floor skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan claimed the top spot, surpassing international landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Rome’s Colosseum. Completed in 1931, the Empire State Building earned its place on the list with over 100,000 reviews and an impressive average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The recognition was based on feedback from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period, with the Empire State Building meeting the criteria for having exceptional reviews and opinions. Less than 1% of the 8 million listings on the site achieve this milestone, making it a significant accomplishment for the popular tourist destination.
Following the Empire State Building and Eiffel Tower on the list of top tourist attractions were the Anne Frank House in The Netherlands, BasÃlica de la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and the Cayman Crystal Caves of the Cayman Islands. The Louvre in Paris ranked seventh overall, while Central Park in Manhattan was positioned at 18th place, highlighting the diverse range of attractions worldwide.
In a separate category for the best food and drink experiences globally, Secret Food Tours Greenwich Village was listed at 19th. Additionally, Maid of The Mist in Niagara Falls secured the second spot in the best sailing and day cruises category, showcasing the variety of travel experiences available to tourists.
