Newport County has officially signed Ciaran Brennan, the former Sheffield Wednesday centre-back who recently became a free agent. This move comes shortly after the League Two club announced the signing of Anthony Glennon earlier in the week. The completion of Brennan’s deal is pending international clearance and approval from the Football League.

At 24 years old, Brennan has inked a two-year contract with Newport County. The Irishman began his career with Sheffield Wednesday’s academy in 2013 and went on to make 18 appearances for the first team. He has also spent time on loan at Notts County, Swindon Town, and most recently at National League club Hartlepool United, where he played four matches last season.

In a statement on the Newport County website, Brennan expressed his excitement about joining the club. He mentioned that he has a good grasp of what it takes to compete at this level and is confident in his abilities to make an impact. The defender is eager to prove himself to the fans and showcase his talents during his time at Newport County.

Brennan’s debut for the club is eagerly anticipated, and he is determined to make a positive impression as he embarks on this new chapter in his career. He is looking forward to the challenge ahead and is determined to continue his development as a player in the competitive environment of League Two football.
