NOLA French Quarter Steals the Spotlight in World Naked Bike Ride 2024 | Entertainment and Lifestyle

May 15, 2024

Participants of the World Naked Bike Ride are encouraged to start thinking about what to wear for the 2024 event. Options for attire include Speedos, bikinis, Band-Aids, glitter, body paint, or even a Crown Royal bag. Some participants may choose to ride entirely in the nude, following the custom of appearing “as bare as you dare.”

The World Naked Bike Ride is a global event designed to raise awareness about the vulnerability of cyclists on the road. By exposing themselves, participants symbolize their exposure to danger and ask the question “Can You See Me Now?” The event aims to remind drivers to be mindful of cyclists and promote bicycle safety.

For the past 16 years, New Orleans has hosted its own version of the World Naked Bike Ride, attracting hundreds of scantily dressed cyclists and supportive onlookers. This year’s event is scheduled to take place on June 8 at 4 p.m., starting at Mickey Markey Park and winding through the French Quarter. While the exact route has not been announced, participants and spectators can visit NOLA.com and the World Naked Bike Ride—NOLA Facebook page for more information as the event approaches.
