The 2024 NBA draft has recently concluded, and unfortunately, no former Notre Dame players were selected. However, Cormac Ryan, who had played four years at Notre Dame after transferring from Stanford, has agreed to a short-term contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. This move will bring Ryan to the Sooner State to join the NBA team.

Ryan was a significant addition to the North Carolina Tar Heels last season after entering the transfer portal. He averaged 11.5 points per game and had a three-point shooting percentage of 35.5%. One of his standout performances was a game against Duke, where he scored 31 points and made six three-pointers in a road victory to close out the regular season.

During his time at Notre Dame, Ryan averaged 31.2 minutes on the court and scored an average of 10.5 points per game. This contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder marks a significant step in his basketball career after his successful collegiate journey.

The news of Cormac Ryan’s signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder was initially reported by Carolina Basketball and has since garnered attention from basketball fans. Though he may not have been drafted, Ryan’s talent and skills have earned him the opportunity to continue his basketball career in the NBA.
