In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, over 80 Novant Health employees are facing layoffs in August. The layoffs, as announced by Novant Health People & Culture Vice President Alan Flynn, will affect 81 employees at a Novant Health facility located at 101 North Cherry Street in Winston-Salem, beginning on August 25th.

The affected positions are predominantly in information technology, such as analytics developers, data engineers, and database administrators. The employees will receive a written 60-day notice of their separation dates.

Novant Health has made changes to its Digital Products and Services (DPS) team by transferring some services to an external partner and shifting additional functions to Deloitte Digital. This move will reduce the use of other external partners by more than 90 percent and allow resources to be scaled so the organization can continue investing in creating a healthier future for the communities they serve.

Approximately 300 team members, representing less than 0.8% of the almost 40,000 positions across Novant Health, are affected by these changes. Those interested may have the opportunity to join external partners or transition to other roles within Novant Health. The organization is providing resources to ease the transition for team members whose roles are being phased out and expresses gratitude for their service to Novant Health and its patients.
