The National Safety Council (NSC) has secured a $3 million grant from the McElhattan Foundation to enhance workplace safety technology. This funding will support the NSC’s Work to Zero initiative, which aims to educate employers on technological safety enhancements.
The Work to Zero program has launched the Safety Innovation Journey, releasing educational materials and hosting webinars on safety technologies such as drones, fatigue monitoring wearables, proximity sensors, VR/AR, and geofencing technology. This initiative is possible thanks to the support of the McElhattan Foundation.
NSC President and CEO Lorraine Martin expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s grant, highlighting the importance of safety technology in saving lives. The McElhattan Foundation, established in 1994, has a history of supporting workplace safety, with Kent McElhattan being honored for his contributions in 2021.
The NSC is dedicated to achieving zero workplace fatalities by 2050 through the continued implementation of advanced safety technologies. The partnership with the McElhattan Foundation is a critical step in reaching this goal.
