Nurse at Fauquier Health receives Mercy Award

Fauquier Health registered nurse Patricia Jeffries, Director of Case Management, was awarded the Mercy Award this year. The award is the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive and is named after Lifepoint’s founding chairman, Scott Mercy. The award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in serving patients and the community. Patricia has been with Fauquier Health for over 30 years and is known for her leadership, dedication, and commitment to patient safety.

At a recent ceremony during Hospital Week, Fauquier Health recognized 27 employee nominees for the Mercy Award. Rebecca Segal, CEO of Fauquier Health, praised Patricia for her outstanding contributions to the organization and the community. Patricia’s selflessness and care for others were highlighted in several nominations, which mentioned her dedication to volunteering for community and employee events, even on nights and weekends. Patricia is described as someone who pays attention to the smallest details, remembers special occasions, and makes sure everyone feels valued and heard.

One nomination mentioned that Patricia works with the kitchen staff to make patient birthdays special, showing her compassion and dedication. She has been a regular presence at health fairs and community events, demonstrating a true servant’s heart. Her commitment to the well-being of both staff and patients is evident in her everyday actions. Patricia’s inspiring leadership, compassion, and honesty make her a valuable member of the Fauquier Health team.
