The Warner Theater was the center stage for high school sports and the athletes who participate in them during the 2024 Northwestern Pennsylvania High School Sports Awards on Monday, June 24.

During the event, which brought together hundreds of athletes, fans, families, and friends, individuals who excelled in varsity and junior varsity sports during the latest season were recognized. Over 20 individual awards were presented for both girls’ and boys’ sports, and 11 premiere awards were also given out.

In addition to the awards, a second round of grants totaling $30,000 was awarded to Erie County organizations. This highlighted the importance of community support in promoting high school sports and helping athletes achieve their goals.

The event also served as a platform for professional football star and McDowell alumni James Connor to share his experiences and inspire the student-athletes in attendance. With over 1.5 million pounds of food packed this year by Second Harvest volunteers, the event underscored the impact of sports and community involvement in making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Overall, the Northwestern Pennsylvania High School Sports Awards was a night to celebrate achievement, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the high school athletes and their supporters.
