Four weeks ago today, the Dolphins signed receiver Odell Beckham Jr. but he has yet to get on the practice field with his new teammates. Beckham is present for mandatory minicamp, but the team has decided to hold him out of team drills for now. Coach Mike McDaniel explained that they are taking a systematic approach to learning the player and developing a relationship with him to ensure his health and success with the team long-term. This approach includes adjusting to Beckham’s timeline and focusing on maintaining health to prevent any setbacks.

Receiver Jaylen Waddle confirmed that Beckham hasn’t been on the practice field with him and Tyreek Hill. Waddle expressed excitement about playing with both Beckham and Hill, who he admired growing up. Despite Beckham and Hill being considered the pass era’s head honchos, Waddle is now the highest paid at $28.25 million per year. Both Hill and Beckham have taken to calling Waddle “28,” a nickname given by Hill. Waddle might respond by calling Hill “25,” as there is speculation that Hill’s reported $30 million per year salary is inflated by a larger compensation package in 2026.
