KBR has recently announced that its green ammonia technology, K-GreeN®, has been selected by OCIOR Energy for a plant in Odisha’s Gopalpur region in India. This marks the 10th KBR-licensed green ammonia plant globally and the first one in India.
Under the agreement, KBR will provide OCIOR with a technology license, engineering design, equipment, and catalyst solutions for a green ammonia plant with a capacity of 600 tpd. KBR will also assist OCIOR in achieving the optimal levelized cost of ammonia production. Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed excitement about supporting OCIOR Energy in this significant project aimed at helping the region meet its decarbonization goals using the zero-carbon K-GreeN solution.
Furthermore, OCIOR Energy’s CEO, Ranjit Gupta, shared the company’s focus on developing well-engineered green ammonia projects in renewable resource-rich regions to meet the increasing demand from global off-takers. This project with KBR’s expertise and commitment is expected to set a benchmark for reliable green fuel production.
