OJHS places third at Science Olympiad

At the county level competition, Oakdale Junior High School’s Science Olympiad Team performed admirably, securing third place overall at the Stanislaus County Regional Olympiad. The team and individual awards earned by the following students in various events added to their success in the competition. In the event Can’t Judge a Powder, Lillian McNamee and Melayah Mortazavi clinched third place. Brenna Franca and Allison Spiller took home third place in Code Busters, while Clair Lang excelled in Disease Detectives, also earning third place. Dynamic Planet saw William Beckstand securing third place, while Brenna Franca and Kailin Wei achieved second place in Fast Facts. Emmett Hunter and William Beckstand earned fourth place in Flight, and Gradie Wright took home fifth place in Forestry. Addisyn Martin and Kailin Wei shone in Fossils with a fourth place finish, while Ximena Sanchez and Addisyn Martin earned fourth place in Meteorology. Liam Allen secured fourth place in Optics, and Kailin Wei and Dakota Radliff earned second place in Reach for the Stars. Road Scholar saw Brenna Franca taking home fourth place, while Ximena Sanchez and Gradie Wright secured first place in Wind Power.
